Weekly Workout {Week 15}

Oh sweet baby J. I get it.

I totally understand why people hate burpees so much. They are in fact an exercise from the Devil himself. They are a special kind of torture when you add in a ring pull-up at the end of said burpee. I wanted to die.

The whole workout looked a little like this:
3 Rounds for Time
400m Run
30 x Farmers Carry Walking Lunges @25lbs
20 x Burpee Pull-Up
10 x Tiger Push Up

It really did feel like this workout when on FOREVER or 29:10 minutes. But it really showed me how out of shape I still really am and that I have a lot of things to work on.

It seems no matter how much I run, when I run, how fast I run or how far I run, my running has been way off. My legs constantly feel like they are weighted down and I can't get my feet to change over fast enough. To say it has been frustrating is a bit of an understatement, but I'm working on it.

Another thing I have been working really hard on are pull ups. There is something about being able to do an unassisted pull-up that makes me feel like all my hard work will have paid off. This week I started doing banded pull-ups to get used to being on the bar. It was a little terrifying at first. But then after some encouraging words from the coaches, they became a little less scary and a lot more fun. I'm still not quite ready to ditch the ring rows in exchange for banded pull ups during the wods, but I'm getting there!
