Tid Bits: The Food Edition

Bread // Oh sweet mother of pearl......excitement really is hearing the words, "How would you like to add bread back into your diet?" It's true. For the last twoish months I've been bread free, but yesterday D told me that it would be o.k. if I added sourdough bread back into the mix of things. I took a moment for it to sink in, but when it did I immediately started making a mental note of all the tomato sandwiches I was going to eat.

Vegetarianism // On October 1, I will have been "meat free" for three years. For the most part it's been pretty easy. I did the vegan thing for a few months, but the loss of honey in my tea was too much. And then I moved onto ovo-lacto vegetarianism because when it really comes down to it, I love cheese and had to add another source of good protein (i.e. eggs) when I started training with D. For the most part, I could live with being an ovo-lacto vegetarian for the rest of my days and not look back, but recently at the suggestion of D to "just think about it", I've been toying around with trying a pescetarian diet. As with all my dietary decisions, I've been doing quite a bit of reading from both a health standpoint as well as an ethical one (personal ethics is what drove me to the decision to become a vegetarian). As with anything there are pros and cons to both, but trying to decide whether the pros outweigh the cons is where I am struggling.
